I’ll be on the BC Almanac show on CBC Radio One tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 9th, 2008) at around 12:30 to talk about the upcoming Canucks season and representing for Canucks nation international.
Be sure to tune in (and someone do me a favor and record it eh).
Bonus: Here’s me and Roland Tanglao discussing the Canucks Outsider “Alive for the Playoffs” live stream on CBC Radio’s “On the Coast” a couple seasons ago plus John, Rebecca and i on CKNW’s “Get Connected“.
At this point, we’re undefeated. Sure, it’s the pre-season, but we’re not complaining about a 6-0 record thus far. New faces are impressing us, a new coaching style seems to be working well, and the new lines are producing better than anyone has really expected. We also got our answer about who will be captain this season, so there is something to be said about that. Rebecca is a not so healthy scratch for this one, but the rest of the crew gathers with their homework in tow on some new faces on our lineup.
Contest: Take a picture with our picture!

We’ve been mentioning it, and now it’s come true. Your TCC crew is popping up on posters in SkyTrain stations and bus stops around the lower mainland. If you see us, snap a photo of you with us, where ever that might be, and submit it to The Crazy Canucks Flickr Pool. Your photo will have its opportunity to show up on the front page of our site, but there’s more!
Submitting a picture to the Flickr pool enters you into a draw for two tickets to the Canucks Open Practice on October 26, 2008. Thanks to J.J. and the Canucks Hockey Blog, you can get two tickets in the fourth row of the lower bowl. A very up close experience to see some of your favorite Canucks on the ice, so bring your camera and add those photos to the pool as well!
Get ready for the regular season to start. Go Canucks!
John’s “Johnny Canuck” tshirt was designed and produced by Linusco Designs.
We’re still in the pre-season swing of things, but the Canucks (yes, the organization themselves) invited us to the first, home game at GM Place as a bit of thanks for the promotional material they asked us to be apart of. Who are we to say no?
The whole crew gathers together in the midst of the first intermission in a game where the Canucks beat the Oilers, 2-1. We give a bit of a run down on why we’re there, initial impressions of the team from the game the night prior against Edmonton as well, and give you some tidbits on what we all expect from the rapidly approaching regular season.
Special programming note: DaveO’s appendix will no longer be joining the podcast. As of this past weekend, that relationship has come to a painful yet mutual agreement on this decision. Thankfully, we still have DaveO.
In yesterday’s episode we revealed that we had been to GM Place for a photoshoot a few weeks ago. Well, the product of that afternoon is now live on the Canucks website as The Crazy Canucks are all featured bloggers/podcasters in the Canucks FanZone.
It’s great that the organization is embracing the fans who love to produce content and cheer on the team. You can check us out in the FanZone along with other hockey bloggers and podcasters.
We’re back. Season three of TCC kicks off with a quick gathering of the crew to has out what to expect for the coming season as well as some cool things going on with each of our various projects. We take a look back as who we’ve lost, the new faces (that we kinda think we know something about but don’t know half as much as we’d like), hash out the who does what for TV and radio play-by-play, and take assignments for new names of the team for show and tell later.

Also, be sure to check out J.J.’s new home for his blog, canuckshockeyblog.com, especially for his super awesome ticket giveaway to the Sept. 23rd pre-season game against Edmonton!

Welcome to the newly themed TheCrazyCanucks.com. We’re excited about the new season; everything from finding out who will wear the “C” on the ice to bringing our podcast listeners the best episodes and guest hosts.
The new site was themed by sixty4media in order to simplify, streamline, and give an overall better look to the posts, podcasts and host highlights.
Our third season of the podcast will kick off later this month. Browse around the new site, subscribe, and stay tuned!
Dave is a healthy scratch for this episode, so we reached into our farm system and plucked Sean Zanberg from Waiting For Stanley to join us on this episode. He’s made an appearance before, but his blog is a great Canucks (…and Maple Leafs) fan blog with plenty of opinions and great photoshop jobs that only he can whip up.

We go a bit free range on this one, taking on the bandwagon hoopla, Chris Pronger, Jim Hughson leaving Sportsnet for CBC, and a look at what’s to come for the remainder of this season. We’re all pulling for a big finish to this season, staying on the bus, waiting for the rest of you to hop on board.
Last Sunday we were fortunate enough to be invited down to GM Place for the Canucks Open Practice.

Aside from covering the usual episode topics, we hung out with and interviewed the guys from the Ultimate Canucks Search, as well as one of the Ultimate Fans, Richard Loat (of Facebook application fame).
JJ got on the microphone to interview passers-by, while we also got the chance to sit down with Kent - the voice behind the We Are All Canuckleheads podcast.
We had a blast, and it was great to have the entire gang together to record one of those rare “face to face” episodes.
Things are looking up for the Canucks (congrats to those who have managed to stay on the bandwagon). JJ, Alanah and John convened to discuss the latest games, injury updates, and other news from the league and around the organization.

Special announcements this episode:
The Crazy Canucks will be hosting a “sports blogging and podcasting” panel at this weekend’s Northern Voice. Our session will be during the 2:15 - 2:55 time slot and there will be plenty of time for questions involving anything in the sports blogging realm.
We will also be making an appearance at the Canucks Open Practice on Sunday. Watch for us recording live with the Ultimate Canucks Search team in the concourse. The Open Practice doesn’t cost a thing (except maybe a service charge) and it’s always a great event for the entire family. Stop by and see JJ, Alanah, Dave, John and Rebecca this Sunday!
Even though our boys are struggling, the new kids are getting their sea legs and Colorado handed us our butts on a platter last Saturday, we’re still pretty optimistic. Speaking to the last 10 games where we’re 4-6, we look forward to the next road trip, securing a nice and comfy playoff spot and talk about some of the players we could have picked up, if we had the chance.
As we all chime in from our “studios”, JJ’s with a view of the Air Canada Centre, this episode is complete with warm fuzzies of the Hockey Day in Canada variety, and tales of communities rallying behind their favourite teams.
